Survey and Spatial New Zealand is calling for applications for its Emerging Leader’s Program, offering valuable exposure to industry policy and decision making processes.

“One of the priorities of Survey and Spatial NZ is the professional development of the young people who will be our industry leaders in the years ahead, and we’re aware of the need for our sector to keep evolving and adapting to the modern needs of members and the public,” said S+SNZ’s Chief Executive, Ashley Church, in a posting on the organisation’s website.

“The new Survey and Spatial NZ Emerging Leader’s Program is an important step toward this goal, in that it allows young members the opportunity to be involved in the governing bodies of our organisation.”

Acceptance into the program is by application, and successful applicants will have an opportunity to have direct insight into the inner workings of S+SNZ across a wide range of disciplines or governance committees.

Participants will gain experience in different disciplines, policy, decision making and governance.

“Participants in similar programs in other organisations have gone on to serve at senior levels both within their organisations and professionally,” said Church.

To apply, you must be a fully paid up S+SNZ member, under 35 years of age on 30 October 2021 and your employer must consent to your participation (as you will probably need to commit 2 to 4 hours every 4 to 6 weeks). Applications are open until 3 November 2021.
